National Debating Champion
Congratulations to Sam Brogan, First Year, who was named Grand Champion at the National Junior Mace Debating Finals in Dublin at the weekend. Sam was also named Best First Year and Best in Munster. Well done also to Liam Canty, Third Year, who broke for the Final of the competition also. Sailing: Fastnet Trophy

National Young Journalist Awards Ceremony
Congratulations to the CBC Transition Year editorial team whose newspaper The Christians’ Chronicle was a finalist at Newsbrands Ireland’s Young Journalist National Media Awards at the Royal Convention Centre in Dublin yesterday. Annual Pi Quiz Regional Final 2026
Congratulations to Third Year students Oran Buckley, Garvan Gillard, John Murphy and Darragh Ó Súilleabháin who emerged as Regional Winners at the Annual Pi Quiz Regional Final held on Tuesday 24 March. Gráinne O'Neill Memorial Legal Essay Competition
Congratulations to Fourth Year CBC students Kevin McCarthy, Matias Ó Conaill, Michael Keane and Oscar de Róiste, who have been shortlisted for the Gráinne O’Neill Memorial Legal Essay Competition award. Students were asked to submit a 1,500-word essay examining the topic of challenges in online freedom of speech. Regional judging by local solicitors is now over, and Kevin, Matias, Michael and Oscar will now go forward to the national round at Blackhall Place, Dublin in May.
