Academic Tracking
The CBC Academic Progress Review programme forms part of the key supports provided for Senior Cycle students. Academic tracking encourages reflection and provides the impetus to change a grade, attitude or behaviour. It is rooted in supporting students and encouraging them to review their own practice, track their progress and set their own goals and targets in order to realise their full potential.
The programme takes the form of a number of one to one meetings with a staff member over the course of Fifth and Sixth Year. During these meetings, students have the opportunity to discuss their progress and challenges with their mentor.
The mentor works with each student to devise a set of targets to assist in the achievement of specific goals, reviewing and amending these goals as necessary as he progresses with his studies.
Our aim to help students become more reflective learners so that they can achieve more in the Leaving Cert, at Third Level and beyond.
