Erasmus+

What is Erasmus+ ?

Erasmus aims to improve the quality of teaching and learning from pre-primary through to secondary level in schools across Europe.

It will provide opportunities for people working in school education to develop their professional skills and to work together with partners in Europe. Activities support the sharing of good practice and testing of innovative approaches that address shared challenges, such as early school leaving or poor levels of basic skills. Activities can foster links with the world outside school and other fields of education and training.

The Erasmus+ Programme is a comprehensive EU initiative that promotes mobility, cooperation, and innovation in education, training, youth, and sport across Europe and beyond.

It supports key EU strategies like the European Education Area, Digital Education Action Plan, and the European Skills Agenda, while fostering social inclusion, green and digital transitions, and youth participation in democratic life. Erasmus+ offers accessible opportunities for individuals and organisations, with a strong focus on inclusion and support.

Mobility of learners and staff is the cornerstone of the Erasmus+ Programme, with an estimated 10 million participants including students, educators, and trainers, expected to take part throughout its duration from 2021 to 2027. These mobility experiences offer individuals the chance to live, study, train, or travel abroad, helping them develop self-confidence, soft skills, cultural awareness, and international networks that enhance both personal and professional growth.

CBC has been actively participating in the Erasmus+ Programme since 2019. This involvement has enabled staff members to travel to a range of European countries, including Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, and Lithuania. Through these international visits, teachers have been given a valuable opportunity to immerse themselves in different educational systems, gaining first-hand insight into varied teaching methods, and classroom environments.

These experiences not only broaden their professional perspectives but also encourage the exchange of innovative ideas and best practices. By engaging with educators across Europe, CBC staff have been able to develop meaningful networks, foster collaborative opportunities, and strengthen cross-cultural understanding. The knowledge and experiences gained abroad are brought back to CBC, enriching the learning environment, informing teaching approaches, and contributing to the overall enhancement of educational quality and continuing professional development.
