World Rugby U20 Championship
Congratulations to past pupils Charlie O’Shea and Christopher Barrett on their selection to start for Irish Rugby U20s in the opening match of this year’s World Rugby U20 Championship. Sailing Success
Congratulations to Matt Mapplebeck, 4th Year, on his selection to represent Ireland at the Youth Match Racing World Championships which will be held in Denmark from 21-25 June. Matt will then sail for Ireland at the 420 World Championships in France from 3-11 July. In recent weeks, Matt and his teammate have won the Irish Youth Nationals in the 420 class, the 420 Munster Championships and the 420 Ulster Championships. Matt also represented Ireland at the Italian Championships

Rugby Success
Congratulations to past pupil Michael Foy on signing his new contract with Munster Rugby. Zambia Immersion 2026
This morning our team of 14 Fifth Years, accompanied by Mr Steven Lynch, Mr Brian Trought and Mr Dean Ryan, departed Cork Airport for their Zambia Immersion. Gráinne O’Neill Memorial National Legal Essay Competition Merit Winner

Austrian-German Language Essay Competition 2026
Congratulations to Transition Year student Oscar de Róiste, winner of the 2026 Austrian-German Language Essay Competition. Oscar has been awarded the 'Dubskey’s Environment' Perpetual Trophy along with an Apple iPad. He attended an official prize ceremony at the Austrian Embassy on Thursday, 7 May. Munster Track & Field Championships
Congratulations to our senior 4x400m relay team of Fifth Year students Cathal Walsh, Eoin Brennan, Darren O'Connell and Jack Cantillon on winning gold at Saturday's Munster Track and Field Championships in Castleisland. Well done also to Second Year student Henry Hussey on winning a silver medal in both the 100m and 200m races. They will now advance to the National Track and Field Championships taking place in Tullamore at the end of the month.

Appointment of Mr Jonny Holland as CBC Director of Rugby and Senior Head Coach
CBC is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Jonny Holland as the school’s Director of Rugby and Senior Head Coach.
