Munster Taekwondo Success
Congratulations to Ward Hamam, 2nd Year, who enjoyed great success at the Munster Taekwondo Open Tournament recently. Ward achieved Gold for Best Power and Technique (Age 14-18 Category) and Silver for Sparring (52-58kg Category). Ward will be competing in the Taekwondo World Cup in Spain in September.

Congratulations to Harry Walsh, 5th Year Music student, who represented CBC at the Interschools Music Festival in Wesley College, Dublin on Saturday. He was awarded 1st Place in the Woodwind O16 (Rice Cup) Category, performing “Bozza’s Aria” on saxophone in a highly competitive category of 15 students.

Team Maths Regional Final 2026
Congratulations to Sixth Year students Guan Hui Lin, Alessandro Siynardi, Luke MacMullan and Ethan Wyse, who secured an impressive 3rd Place overall at the Team Maths Regional Final last Thursday. The competition consisted of a challenging team quiz based on the Leaving Certificate Mathematics course, bringing together 37 teams from schools across the region. CBC was strongly represented on the day with four teams competing. Well done to all involved.

'Dearg Díreach' Selected for First Cut Youth Festival
Congratulations to George O'Mahony, 6th Year, whose film 'Dearg Díreach' (Straight Red) has been accepted for the First Cut Youth Festival in Youghal. George's film will be screened theatrically today at the Mall Arts Theatre. 'Dearg Díreach' was made entirely through Irish and premiered here in CBC last May. Comhghairdeas arís.

Congratulations to Darren O'Connell, 5th Year, who represented his club with distinction at the Munster Juvenile Indoor Athletics Competition held at Nenagh Olympic Stadium recently. Social Justice and Advocacy Group Visit to Geneva
Well done to Fifth Year student ambassadors Cathal Lyons, Conor O'Loughlin and Leon O'Connell who represented CBC in Geneva last week on a social justice and advocacy trip. The delegation visited the Red Cross Museum learning about humanitarian aid in areas that have suffered through such conflicts and genocides. Choir - Maranatha
Well done to our First and Second Year Choir members (pictured with Bishop Fintan Gavin) who performed at 'Maranatha' in City Hall last Thursday, a concert organised by the Diocese of Cork & Ross. Maranatha brings together over 400 post-primary students from across the Diocese to celebrate faith through music and song.
