Zambia Immersion Project 2026
The CBC Zambia Immersion Project is a charitable project that aims to create and maintain partnerships between CBC and schools in Mazabuka, Zambia. Through the programme, CBC students first fundraise for projects that will aid their school partners in Mazabuka. Students then travel to Mazabuka to work on these projects over two weeks in June. The Immersion Project runs every second year and is currently facilitated by the Cork-based charity organisation SERVE.
Understanding the culture and history of the Zambian people is an important component of the trip. Several activities were organised to facilitate this, such as workshops, sports days, and visiting the classrooms of our partnered schools.

Our students carried out three projects during their time in Mazabuka: paving stone installation at Lyobolola Primary School, wall construction around a banana plantation at St. Patrick’s Secondary School, and painting, decorating and maintenance of school grounds at Flamboyant Special School. Students also had the chance to teach at St Patrick’s Secondary School.

As part of the 2026 trip, students spend three days resting and recuperating in Livingstone before returning home to Ireland. The Livingstone trip includes a game drive where students get to see some of the local wildlife.
The Livingstone trip also included a trip to the spectacular Victoria Falls.
