We are delighted to officially launch the CBC Zambia Immersion Project 2026 this morning.

In June, a group of fourteen Fifth Year students and three teachers will travel to Mazabuka for a two-week volunteering programme with SERVE, a Cork-based international development organisation committed to providing equal opportunities in disadvantaged communities. The purpose of the immersion is to stand in solidarity with our partner communities, develop global citizenship, and contribute to sustainable improvements in local schools.

Many children in the Mazabuka region face barriers to accessing quality education — including poverty, disability, and limited resources. This project aims to ensure that no child is left behind and to enable schools to continue building safer, more inclusive learning environments. In addition, donations will help SERVE fund wider programmes that reduce education poverty, promote inclusion for children with disabilities and empower vulnerable youth through skills programmes.

The Immersion team will organise a range of fundraising events throughout this year and all support received will be very much appreciated.  Funds raised from these activities will have a lasting positive impact on these communities while helping our students learn the values of compassion, service, and global responsibility.
