National Young Journalist Awards Ceremony

Congratulations to the CBC Transition Year editorial team whose newspaper The Christians’ Chronicle was a finalist at Newsbrands Ireland’s Young Journalist National Media Awards at the Royal Convention Centre in Dublin yesterday.
TCC was placed second in the Newspaper Award category. The students’ work was highly commended by an esteemed panel of judges including Editor of The Sunday Times, Kieran McDaid, and Irish Daily Mail Editor, Eddie Coffey.
The competition, supported by Coimisiún na Meán, was hosted by award-winning Irish Times writer, Róisín Ingle. Among the special guests who spoke to the CBC students and all national finalists were Ombudsperson for the Press Council of Ireland, Susan McKay, Sunday Times journalist Patrick O’Donoghue, and 2019 Young Journalist of the Year, Kate Lynch.
