20 Dec 2007: Christmas Concert 2007

The C.B.C. Christmas Star has become something of a landmark on the Cork skyline over the Christmas period. As always, this year the star was lit at the Annual Christmas Concert and Carol-Singing Service. Beginning the night’s entertainment outside, Mr. Eamonn Muldoon, President of the Past Pupils’ Union, lit the star.

A Nativity performance was one of the highlights of this year’s show, put on by the Preparatory School. The Class of 2007 were also involved in the night, in particular in bringing Santa Claus to C.B.C. for his annual visit.

The College Orchestra performed some well rehearsed pieces and the Art Department can be equally proud of the set and costume design, which was as good as ever. Following the play and performances by many talented musicians, everyone’s favourite part of the evening began. Led by Santa Claus and the First Year Choir, the C.B.C. community celebrated the onset of the festive season with a rousing session of carols.

Also present on the night were a number of representatives of local charities, to whom Dr. Jordan, College Principal, presented cheques; the proceeds of some of the charitable activities organised here in the College throughout the year.
